General Description Craig McKay is an internationally recognized marine industry expert with over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry, including aluminum vessel kit set designs, parts procurement, ferry service design, service operation and maintenance. His vessel expertise ranges from commercial low-cost people movers to upmarket luxury vessels. “I started in the marine industry in the mid 80’s in southern Moreton Bay, Australia as a Master, working on some of the last remaining timber passenger ferries, before upgrading to aluminium passenger catamarans, and completing around 190,000km of paying passenger trips just in Moreton Bay alone. I then went on to co-own and operate an eco-friendly fast commuter service to an upscale island resort developed by Ron Clarke MBE and Charles Feeney, on the Gold Coast for 15 years. We carried up 1,000 passengers a day, using fast catamarans up to 24m. During this time on Queensland’s Gold Coast I also assisted the City Council and KPMG in designing the blueprint for the city ferry service. “I am a current Master 24m NC and Marine Engine Driver, and experienced in most areas of commercial marine operation, engineering, sourcing and vessel construction, and have been addicted to boats since I could walk!” Craig has owned and worked extensively with fast ferry and water taxi companies. He has performed business viability assessments and business planning, as well as overseeing implementation and operation of new ferry services. Craig speaks English and a good amount of Italian, and has local knowledge in USA, Italy, Asia and Oceania. With this extensive experience, it is easy to see what an asset Craig is to SeaBoats and it is with great pleasure that we are able to offer his services to our clients to allow them to benefit whether they are buyers or sellers. | |
