The fishing vessel “Hirere” is offered for sale by tender by JK & DL Murphy Limited acting by Amanda Jane Atkins and Rowan John Chapman as joint and several receivers and managers of the Vessel.

VESSEL DESCRIPTION
Hirere is a 20.79m single screw Fishing Vessel built by Bluff Engineering & Welding Co Ltd, Bluff, New Zealand in 1966 to New Zealand Ministry of Transport survey and was originally built as an Oyster Trawler and is now set up as a Crayfish Potting Vessel.  
 
CONSTRUCTION
The hull is a round bilge displacement type vessel of welded steel on multiple transverse frames, with water tight bulkheads with longitudinal stringers and girders. It has a raked stem and a transom stern.
The decks and wheelhouse are also all welded steel construction.
 
LAYOUT
The wheel house deck is set well forward on the focsle and has the helm and watch keeping area with engine controls and the navigation and communication equipment close at hand. 
There is access out on to the aft work deck and internal access down to port into the forward accommodation space and aft to the engine room. To starboard of the wheelhouse entrance is the ablutions. The forepeak is accessed from the foredeck and is also utilized as the chain locker.  The next area aft is the crews accommodation which features 3 bunks and a large L shaped settee, which also doubles as extra berths. A table and small galley is adjacent to port.  Aft of the accommodation area is the large single level engine room. Aft of the engine room is the fish hold, followed directly aft, by the aft peak and steering flat.
 
The cray pots are recovered from over the starboard side, just aft of the wheelhouse, the catch is processed into the large on-deck live cray tank and then subsequently stowed in the below deck fish hold.  
 
WHEELHOUSE
The small wheelhouse is in keeping with the style of when the vessel was first built in the 1960’s.  Access to the work deck is through the single aft door and also internal access forward to the accommodation and aft to the engine room.  The helm station is equipped with very basic navigation and communication gear. 
Much of the control and monitoring equipment on the bridge deck appears to be original.
 
Bridge equipment includes:

1 x TQM AP4 Auto Pilot.

1 x Sestral 180mm Magnetic compass with reflector tube and binnacle.

ENGINES, MACHINERY AND ENGINEERING 
The engine room is on a single level and is located forward of the hold. The main engine is in the centerline with an auxiliary engine on the port side. 
The engine room and immediate spaces contain, fuel and oil pumps, valves, filters, fire pump, bilge pumping systems, compressors, hydraulic pumps and related machinery. 
The main engine and auxiliary engine each have slave shafts, belt driven off the front of the engines, which via mechanical clutches allows various equipment to be run, including hydraulics, alternators and compressors.
 
Propulsion is provided via a single main engine driving a fixed pitch propeller.

TANKAGE
Diesel: Carried in six (6) tanks with a total capacity of 18.532 m3 @ 100%. 
Freshwater: Carried in 2 tanks with a total capacity of 1.905 m3 @ 100%. 
 
MAIN GENERATOR PLANT
Electrical power on board the vessel is provided by the main auxiliary generator 
The main generator is situated on the aft port side of the engine room.  
 
Main Auxiliary: Cummins 6-cylinder Marine diesel, 
Alternators: Mecc Alte, 22 kVA 230/400v 50Hz @100% load
Auxiliary engine hours are not known. 
 
ELECTRICAL
Primary power is provided via the main generator plant.
All the primary electrical loads appear to be 400 & 230 volts AC 50 Hz.  
DC voltages are primarily 24volt with some 12volt services.  
The House and Engine start batteries are located in the engineroom and are charged from the engine alternators
The main electrical control panel is located in the engine room. In here is located the main electrical switchboard with isolating switches and circuit breakers.
AC and DC charging is provided for all batteries.
 
FISH HOLD
Total capacity of the fish hold is approx. 26 m3
The hold can be refrigerated down. 
The fish hold is accessed down through a hatch, aft of amidships of the work deck.
A large on-deck live cray tank is located on the aft deck and is supplied with sea water
by a 15 HP Kubota engine driving a circulating pump located in the after peak.
 
DECK EQUIPMENT
Derricks: The vessel is fitted two derricks, with the forward derrick fitted with a hydraulic Pot Hauler and the aft derrick fitted with a hydraulic winch motor and is utilized for loading & unloading the fish hold. 
Anchor Windlass: The hydraulic anchor windlass is installed on the focsle and has a drum loaded with 16mm long chain rode with and a 150 kg Bruce anchor.   The windlass also has a horizontal warping drum on the port side.
 
DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT 
The galley area is adequate and is fitted with a Formica bench top and a stainless sink and storage cupboards under the bench top..
Domestic galley equipment includes:
Dickinson Diesel Stove with 30 gallon wetback
230V Small Domestic Fridge
 
The saloon has a Large LCD Flat screen TV with the signal provided via the Intellian Satellite TV antenna. 
 
EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT
The vessel is equipped and maintained with the safety equipment required for MNZ survey.
A six (6) person RFD Pacific life raft are carried. 
Life buoys and a GME MT400 406 MHz EPIRB are also provided.
Lifesaving appliances is provided for up to 6 people.
 
SPARE WHEELHOUSE
The Vessel is offered for sale together with a partially constructed replacement wheelhouse lying at Dargaville Northland depending on the final sale price.  
 
SURVEY STATUS
The vessel currently holds a New Zealand Certificate of Survey (No. 3135-17) issued under Maritime rule MR44.41 & MR44.42 and is valid until 20th June 2022. 
She is surveyed under the category of Fishing and activities, Potting for Restricted Offshore waters within 100 miles of the New Zealand coastline.
