Handy sized 16.76m Twin Screw Tug built by Whangarei Engineering, New Zealand in 1971. Powered by twin Caterpillar D 343 TA 6 Cylinder turbo charged diesel engines delivering 365 BHP each @1800 RPM, providing 8 tonne bollard pull.
The vessel had an overhaul back in 2014 and reputedly had some bottom plating replaced, her shafts drawn and hull repaint at a cost of over NZD 350,000.
Maritime New Zealand Safe Ship Management certificate valid until 15th June 2018.

Alternators: Each engine is fitted with a 24-volt CAV. AC 70 alternator.
The port engine has an extra 12 volt C.A.V. AC 5 alternator fitted.
Auxiliary Alternator Set: Lister SR2 air cooled diesel alternator set is arranged at the forward end of the engine room. The diesel directly drives a 6 Kw Brush SCAF 2.25.4 P alternator.
Engine Control: The engines are controlled from the wheelhouse by heavy duty “Morse Control” units using single control levers for each engine.
Tail Shafts: The shafts are forged mild steel 5” diameter with mild steel liners fitted in way of bearing surfaces. The stern tubes are oil lubricated and extend to A Brackets.
Propellers: One handed pair of 1473mm x 889mm (58”x35”) 4 bladed bronze propellers
