Built by Derecktor Shipyards these two catamaran ferries have been designed under LR Class and have aservice speed of over 30 knots. This is maintained by four MTU 12V2000M70 diesel engines, each with an output of 600kW (800hp) at 1,800rpm, and driving four Hamilton 512 waterjets with ZF 2555 gearboxes.

In order to provide a fast turnround time, BMT Nigel Gee has designed the ferries to load and discharge at the bow. They can offer optional side loading where bow loading focilities do not exist.

The ferries are mainly for passenger service but can carry eight motorised scooters forward of the main deck.

They have been designed to be accessible to disabled passengers and have no ramps or sills on the main deck to hamper wheelchairs. The main deck can accommodate seating for 212 passengers and four wheelchairs in a heated/air conditioned compartment.

There is additional seating for 137 on the weather deck in a combination of covered and open seats.

A kiosk for food services is located at the aft end of the boats.

Restrooms, one of which cam be used by disabled passengers. are located port and starboard on the main deck. There are two additional rest rooms located forward midships, adjacent to the pilot house, one for the passengers and one for the crew.
