"We are keen sellers and would love to see this vessel go to someone who could put their name on it from day 1, creating a fantastic legacy for their business, family, it deserves a good home, if not then we may fish it – but unfortunately this is subject to our selling some vessels to rationalise our fleet – we just have too many top quality modern fishing boats, meaning we don’t have enough quota, skippers or crew – oh and then there is the financial resources – so were keen sellers."

The main deck has sliding glass doors port and starboard to let in the light and fresh air. The doors out to the aft deck can be opened right up to bring the outside in allowing the main salon to become part of the outdoor entertaining. Stairs aft lead down to a large swim platform with a lowering centre section for easy water access. There is even a mini beach club built into the stern. Main deck forward is the dining room and galley with a centre island/breakfast bar. The fore peak is down just half a flight where there are three guest staterooms with queen berths each with their own bathrooms. This sleek, modern vessel was designed with large open deck areas, possible because of the scale of the yacht. The client requested space to display his extensive art collection, and so accommodation requirements are modest to maintain the demand for spacious cabins. The ABS classed design uses conventional fiberglass/foam core technology although the vessel could also be constructed of steel or aluminum should an owner so desire. This is to be a moderate displacement vessel with an efficient hull form using our latest technology in appendages for fuel efficiency with excellent seakeeping. Twin diesels turning shafted propellers will provide a cruising speed of 24 knots with a long-range speed of 14 knots. This sleek modern yacht combines comfort and style to provide the client with the yacht of his dreams.

Owners would like to highlight the flexibility of this unique vessel. She is a low draft vessel combined with a low air draft, making her exceptionally useful for river cruising where there are low bridges and shallow channels. In addition because of her beam she is an excellent sea boat and the Owners have used her in the open waters of Port Phillip Bay where beam seas would make the ride uncomfortable on many vessels. The vessel is not equipped with a fixed galley as this would take up space which is better used for passengers. When used for catered functions it is easy to set up temporary catering facilities. Owner feel that the flexibility that the vessel offers will make her a very useful addition to any tourist fleet. Potential buyers should note that due to her seakeeping capabilities she could be relocated to anywhere in Australia on her own bottom with a possibility that she could sail to New Zealand.

This 120’ x 40’ Aluminum SWATH crew boat was built in 1999 for Trico Marine to quickly shuttle as many as 250 passengers to offshore platforms. She was built by Eastern Shipbuilding Group and designed by Petrobras. The goal was to create an offshore crew transport vessel that would phase out costly helicopter rides and rough voyages on conventional, mono-hull crew boats. The SWATH design provided a smooth ride and met the requirements of an average speed of 25 knots. The M/V Deacon is capable of speeds over 30 knots. The ergonomic requirements were defined to limit the incidence of seasickness to less than 5% in 4 hours exposure in the 2- to 3- meter seas so common to the Campos Basin where the vessel would operate. They also required comfortable seating, ample legroom and an HVAC system with a relatively high rate of exchange. The final design presented a number of challenges, while incorporating many high tech features, such as a gas turbine coupled to controlled pitch propellers via a 27:1 reduction gear and an active fin system. The vessel was built for $23 million. New construction cost to replace the vessel is estimated at over $30 million. While the M/V Deacon is currently powered with two Allison 501 KF turbines, she may be re-powered with conventional engines. A recently constructed model shows what the vessel’s outer decks would look like with conventional power. After five years of service in Brazil, the vessel was placed in freshwater storage for five years. During the five years of storage, the crew was on board and machinery was run regularly. The M/V Deacon was transferred to Seacraft Shipyard where she was dry-docked in June 2008 and the bottom of the vessel was repainted. Seacraft is in Amelia, Louisiana, USA. Can be reconfigured or re-powered to: Crew Boat, Passenger Ferry, Dinner Cruises, Whale Watching, Research Vessel, Casino, Military Yacht, Seismic Surveying, Live Aboard Dive Boat, Dive Support Vessel.
